Continuing the blog post I wrote on “The Greatest Thing You Can Do For the Men In Your Life”, and because of the multiple requests, I wanted to share 5 specific things that the Lord has laid on my heart to pray for Jeff (and other important men in my life, like my dad, pastors, and friends). Obviously there are so many things you can pray for that are specific to the men in your life; by no means is this an exhaustive list! But my hope is that this will encourage and spur you on to pray for specific things regarding your guys’ hearts, minds and souls.
Here are 5 things that I regularly pray for Jeff:
- He’d passionately love Jesus above all else, with all of His heart, mind, soul and strength & that he would be intimate with our Lord.
- He’d walk in purity, integrity and honesty.
- He’d walk in humility.
- He’d continue to be a light, persevering in passionately proclaiming Christ and making disciples.
- He’d know, rest and rejoice in who he is ‘in Jesus.’ i.e. forgiven, new, loved, clean, blameless, washed, righteous, and spotless.
Next week I will go more into the why behind these five things.
What are specific ways you pray for the men in your life?

I also pray that my husband will feel peace in doing those things, because when your speaking out for Jesus there are so many times when others come against you. They continually persecute you when you stand for what is right in a world where shortcuts and the ‘me’ philosophy is rampant. I have so much respect for what you and Jeff are doing, keep it up! It’s very encouraging!
Hi Alyssa! Before I begin, I’d like to thank you for creating this blog because its very encouraging and it really shines and reflects your love for God through your words. I also pray about my boyfriend all the time, and after reading your first post what you said really stuck to me. That the devil tries to take down the leaders from our lives and the people that we love, reading this made me even more attentive and realize how extremely important to pray for our men because they are our leaders and its important that they please and follow God above all else. I’m definately going to read the book you mentioned, “Praying for Your Future Husband”. It would be so amazing if you could have a get together for ladies, specifically for younger girls, and discuss this topic about dating and being patient and pure and loving, and preparing yourself for the future to be a good wife.
