About a month ago this book caught my eye at Barnes and Noble. Jeff and I were looking through books, seeing if there were any good ones out that we hadn’t seen before–you know, a personal past time favorite of ours. Then this little gem appeared. It caught my eye because of its simplicity, and let’s be honest- the sparkling green earrings do make a girl stop for a second. I glanced through it and realized it was all about motherhood.
“Not for me“, I told myself and put the book back on the shelf.
I did however look up her blog, Big Mama, to see what she had to say. Immediately I was drawn into her stories, amazed at her wit and getting a side ache from laughing so hard. I had to get this book.
I waited as patiently as a 5 year old on a road trip telling Jeff every 8 hours “I hope my book comes in the mail today!” Bless his heart he kept looking online to see where it was. And then it came.
I ate it up. I couldn’t put this book down- seriously. I read it during the day, out loud to Jeff on our road trip and at night with my iPhone light.
If you’re a mom, going to be a mom, or are currently an empty nester- you have got to read this book! And if you’re like me–not there yet–you still should read it. It’s absolutely hysterical! Her stories will leave you with a smile on your face the rest of the day, silently cracking up to yourself as you think about her stories from motherhood. It’s genuine, laugh-out-loud funny and so endearing.
So, if you need a good read, or simply a good laugh, I highly recommend it! You can check it out here: Sparkling Green Earrings.
Happy Friday ya’ll!
