Our Addiction to Hurry and How It Affects Us - Jeff and Alyssa

The holiday season is upon us! A time of joy, love, peace, celebration…and stress. It is also a time where we are the busiest. It’s the season where we put ourselves in a constant state of hurry. Through all the hustle and bustle, going from one place to another, how often do we really take the time to reflect on the actual reason for the season? How often are we giving thanks for all the blessings? How often are we celebrating the birth of Jesus? How often are we reflecting on all the good of this past year and gratefulness for the next? Is it as often as how much time spent on the phone? Social media? Entertainment? Where are you putting the time in between everything else into?

When you pour your time into God, you’ll find that there is no need to hurry.

Hurry is incompatible with love, joy, and peace. When you are hurried, you are not the best version of you. Take the time to slow down and reflect. Pray. Talk to God. Look at your schedule, because there is where you’ll find where your true priorities are.

Busyness and hurry keep us from Jesus.

If you are always busy, hurried, rushed, you will struggle with being able to show true love and grace to others. Take some time to evaluate what is important and should take priority to you in your own season of life.

This week we chatted with John Mark Comer about the hurried life and how it affects us as followers of Jesus.
