Hey guys!
To say we are excited to start this first month is an UNDERSTATEMENT! I wish we could’ve started the first day after we closed the registration, but starting with a fresh month sounded a little cleaner to pattern/detail people like me, and to also give you guys a few days to dig around on a few of the free resources we put on the dashboard for consumption (31 Ways devotionals, etc).
The main point in writing this quick letter though is to get all of us on the same page, and to make sure everyone knows WHAT TO EXPECT for this first month and going forward. We want to be as clear as possible with expectations and making sure you are all feeling served and encouraged.
So to layout the general rhythm of how it’ll work every month, we want to give you a couple of quick details.
On the FIRST of every month (we are sending it two days early by sending today) we will write a letter similar to this announcing that month’s topic and theme as well as the date for the scheduled webcast within the first week of the month (which is below). And the reason we want to announce the topic with a few days before the webcast, is because we think the webcast will be firing on all cylinders if you all are already thinking about the topic and asking yourselves a couple questions, and coming with the theme on your mind! By the way, the webcast will ALWAYS be recorded and reuploaded to the membership site in order for you all to watch it whenever is most convenient for you. But tuning in live if you can will allow us to have a fun Q&A section and good discussion.
March’s Theme is:
HOW TO CREATE A VISION & MISSION FOR YOUR MARRIAGE OR FAMILY
Webcast: 3:30 PST on March 4th, on the Monthly Marriage Facebook Group.
For the content and curriculum, the webcast will always primarily be the big grenade we like to call it, dealing with the WHY of the topic. So if one month is on money, we will talk about WHY money is important in a marriage and why healthy boundaries and knowledge about it is pivotal. Or if one month is on communication then the webcast will be primarily on WHY communication is so important and we will teach on the heart of communication and research etc. You will also be sent that month’s PDF activation guide at the beginning of the month (on facebook, in the portal, etc)! The first month’s guide is done and we think you guys are going to love it and it’s really going to spark some good discussion and connection!
And then, after the webcast, we will spend the rest of the entire month digging into the HOW. How do we apply this, how can we grow at this, how do we hack our way into growth on this topic as a couple but also collectively as a community. We both thoroughly enjoy tangible proof or results or something we can hold in regards to the final product of a journey, so we are trying to get super creative with having a very tangible thing to “hold” in some sense at the end of every month so we can all see the growth and accomplishment we are gaining as we go forward.
We are seriously SO EXCITED to get this going next month. I really do think the first month’s content is going to be such an incredible one to do for our marriages and the thing we consider as the main reason for our marital health and strength. It’s something that changed our lives.
Lastly, one fun idea we had just the other day to really take this group to the next level is at the end of EVERY MONTH we are going to do sort of prize or giveaway to bless one or a few of you all every month. We know how important date nights are for us and we believe in marriages HAVING FUN and intentional connection time so we want to put our money where our mouth is and try to give y’all a fun date or prize or gift every month as a thanks for going on this journey with us.

P.S (this is from Jeff) – Let’s talk a little geek talk here. The membership site portal will have all the archives in it. We will post everything in there but the private Facebook group is where we can have all the interactions and build the community. We will be doing the monthly webcasts live on Facebook and doing several other things inside Facebook during the month. That provides the easiest way for everyone to understand the technology. Right now, we just posted this poll on the Facebook page asking you for the best time for the live webcast each month. It will always be the first Sunday of the month but we are going to try and stick with the same time and day each month (first sunday at 3:30 PST) if possible. We will send updates as well through email, facebook group and the membership site but once again Facebook seems like the easiest way these days to get the message out.
